Nordic comprises three businesses – a port terminal facility, waste recycling and document storage and destruction.
Milestone helped the management to finalise an MBO and develop a growth strategy designed to broaden the customer base, increase revenue streams and grow the recycling operation.
In the first two years, major new clients including Norske Skog (a leading Scandinavian newsprint manufacturer), BP, Orange and the BBC were secured and a new £5 million recycling facility was constructed in Tilbury to drive organic growth and to roll out the recycling offer.
Milestone assisted the management with strategic focus, finance and operational improvements, including recruitment of key personnel and the successful diversification of its client base, securing a number of long term contracts. Following fast growth (34% CAGR within two years), the business was sold to a trade buyer. Management shared in the value creation.
