The Business
Founded in 1999, Coffee Nation is the UK market leader in providing self-serve gourmet coffee targeting the ‘on-the-go’ market. Coffee Nation pioneered the original concept for self-serve gourmet coffee looking to combine premium quality barista coffee with the consistency, availability and ease of vending.
The business now provides self-service gourmet coffee machines to a variety of locations including motorway service stations, petrol forecourts, universities, the work place and large retail stores throughout the UK. It has national contracts with a number of retailers including Welcome Break, Moto, Esso, Tesco's and Sainsbury’s.
Value added steps planned:
- We plan to increase the current UK portfolio from 550 machines at acquisition to over 1,000 machines during the course of the investment. As at 30 September 2010, we had installed over 800 machines;
- Growth is planned through development within current customers as well as targeting new customers in both existing (e.g. petrol forecourts) and new channels; and
- In conjunction with the roll-out programme, management will look to increase the awareness of the Coffee Nation brand within the UK market place.
